100 Rep Hell Tryout

Sunday, June 30, 2013

Big girls don't cry so were told lol but just looking at this new workout I want to try and knowing how many reps of the exercise I have to do........I almost started to cry. On a daily, I read tons of workout magazines and tons of articles online on how to better my workouts and build more muscle. The read of the night was Muscle and Strength. Tonight I was looking for a killer back and shoulder workout. I then ran across the "100 rep Hell". Anything that sounds scary I am totally down for. Take a look at this workout......

The 100 Rep Hell Workout Program

(You can view the whole actual workout here.)

So for everyday that is listed you must complete the said exercise as 1 set of 100 reps. Ex: on Monday you must do 100 deadlifts and 100 seated calf raises. Holy Hell!!! Your legs and calves will be on fire. So as of tomorrow I will be starting this treacherous workout alongside my actual daily workouts. Who's ready to feel the burn?!!!!

Gotta Love Legs!!

Monday, June 24, 2013

Today is leg day and might I say.....God Bless me on this day!! Even though it's one of my longest workout days and I can barely walk after, I love legs and I bust my ass working on them. We hear a lot of people say squats, squats, squats do a body and a booty right and they do but today I am going to show you a few of my other favorite leg workouts that leave you feeling satisfied.

Squats

Smith Machine Leg Press

Leg Extensions

Weighted Lunges

So here were a few of my favorites that I love and that really work for me. They help get your legs in great shape and give you that nice firm round booty you have been wanting and looking for. Of course I have a lot more leg exercises that I love but these take the cake.

Competition Journey- Sisterhood

Saturday, March 16, 2013

If you didn't already know, I am preparing for my first ever season of being a figure competitor. If your not exactly sure what that is let me give you an example:

Yes, hot girls....LOL!!!

It has been a long, drastic, and painful 12 weeks so far but I'm loving every bit of it. One thing that I have learned so far on my journey is that all the girls that I have come across have been amazing. I should say women.....LOL!! Even the gentleman that I have met in the gym who are training have also been great as well. Once you start to meet others that are in the same training category as you, it allows things to become so much easier. Having these girls to motivate me and push me to my limits has truly helped me to succeed in everything that I have done so far. It's more of like a sisterhood. Everyone feels your pain, your hunger, and your struggle for success. Without tearing each other down, we are all helping each other climb our way up to the top.

As of tomorrow, which is Sunday for anyone not on our time zone, we have 10 weeks left until our first competition. For a couple of the girls, this will be like their second or third show but for most of us it is our first. Everyone at this point is cranky, hungry, body screaming, and still hitting the gym hard. With all of this being said, I want to think all those girls for pushing me to my limits and taking all my crazy phone calls and texts.

Training for big shows like this is lots of hard work and is definitely not a game. You have to be dedicated and be willing to change your lifestyle for the long term. The passion I have seen from others who do this is beyond belief. The passion that I have now for what I do, is a shocker to most but now a true love for me. Will I continue to this lifestyle forever........Damn right.....LOL!!!! This is me and I love my new body. I encourage any women to embrace herself in lifting weights. I have truly become an iron freak and you can't get me in the gym unless I'm lifting something.

So, to everyone reading, following , and hitting the gym with me......

How to Stay Motivated

Monday, February 25, 2013

We all have those days when we feel like we just can't make it to the gym because we're to tired or we just want to skip our workout that day. Trust me!!! I'm very guilty of feeling that way but I have a few tips that might make you feel a little bit more motivated.

Tip 1: Sleep

Not getting enough sleep the day before can definitely throw off a workout. You will feel real sluggish and just sitting on the couch might feel very comfy but don't do it. Make sure you get at least 6-8 hours of sleep.

Tip 2: Use your workout as an outlet for stress.

I can truly tell you that working out gives me more energy and allows me to take my stress out on the iron!! I love it! It's like a natural high.

Tip 3: Having cute workout Gear.

Haha....that goes for guys to. If you missed my Facebook post of the day I spent shopping for new workout gear then go check it out. I love working out in colorful clothing. Having cute sneakers or a cute workout outfit will boost your energy to go the gym.

Tip 4: Join a fitness community.

I'm guessing you have done this already because your here. Having the extra motivation to workout is great!! I have met so many new friends through fitness communities that have helped me along my great journey.

Tip 5: Reward yourself.

Reward yourself with treats. For every workout you do, give yourself a $1-$10. Once you get to $100 buy yourself something nice. What I do is every time I drop a jean size I do something nice for myself like a new pair of running shoes or a cute outfit.

These are just a few tips to keep you motivated ladies and gentlemen. Please feel free to share any motivational tips you have for everyone.

Get your workout on!!!
